Who’s First?
Sometimes I get so caught up in how I can have a big impact that I lose focus on how I can have a BIG FAITH and BIG OBEDIENCE.
I have to admit that I have to remind myself every day, multiple times a day, that my first priority is to “seek first the Kingdom of God.” My relationship with my Heavenly Father has to remain a top priority, which means that’s where a majority of my time, focus, and resources need to be spent. I trust that God will reveal the rest of His plans for me as I get closer to Him, and His trust in me grows.
I know that having goals and dreams for my life are not inherently a bad or God-dishonoring thing, but it can’t become the foundation for my life; They can’t take God’s place or become idols in my life.
It’s funny because I wrote this about a month ago, but after hearing my Pastor talk about making room for God, I decided to write to Him, and then came across this unfinished piece.
God is the reason I don’t believe in irony anymore – He’s been very intentional about reminders and redirection for me, and I’m grateful.
So here’s to making God a priority by seeking Him first, and letting everything else follow. Life’s more peaceful that way.
